The format

What Is the Bing Homepage Quiz?

Most online quizzes throw a question at you cold, with no context or clues; pick an answer. The Bing Homepage Quiz works differently. You're shown a single image first. No text, no hints beyond what's in the picture. Then, once you've had a moment to actually look at it, you're asked four simple questions that are all based on what you just saw.

That's the whole format. No trick questions, no random trivia pulled from nowhere. If the image shows a snow-capped mountain range, your questions will be about that mountain range, not something unrelated from a different category entirely. It's less like a traditional pop quiz and more like a quick game of how observant you are and what you actually know about what you just looked at.

Why it works

Why It's Based on an Image, Not Random Trivia

Generic trivia questions are easy to guess at random. Multiple-choice with no real anchor means you're often just picking the option that sounds most familiar. An image changes that.

It also means each quiz is self-contained. You don't need to have followed the news or remembered the last quiz. You just need to look closely at the image on screen and think about what it's showing you.

It gives you something concrete to actually study before you answer, which makes the quiz feel more like a genuine test of attention and knowledge, and a lot less like a coin flip.

    Answer the 4 Questions

Four multiple choice questions appear, one at a time, each tied directly to the image you just saw.

  3. Step 3

    Check Your Score

See your result right away: how many you got right out of four, plus the correct answers for any you missed.

  4. Step 4

Come Back Monday, Thursday, or Saturday

A new image and new questions go live three times a week. Come back then for the next challenge.

Behind the quiz

How We Create These Questions

Who's Behind It

Each quiz is put together by our Bing Homepage Quiz Team, a small group that picks the image, writes the questions, and checks every fact before it goes live. No AI guesswork, no copy-pasted trivia.

How We Choose the Topic

We don't pick images at random. Each one is chosen around a topic that's genuinely trending or worth knowing about, something people are already searching for, talking about, or should probably know. If something notable happens on a Sunday, there's a good chance it shapes Monday's quiz. The same goes for the lead-up to Thursday and Saturday: we track what's relevant in the days before and build that week's three quizzes around it.

Why Three Times a Week

A new quiz every single day would mean rushing the research and picking whatever image is easiest, not necessarily the one most worth knowing about. Three times a week gives our team enough time to pick a genuinely relevant topic, write questions that are properly fact-checked, and get the image right, instead of publishing something rushed just to hit a daily deadline.
